Named after Kirby Kallas-Lewis's German Shepherd, OOLA Distillery sources grains from a single organic farm in Eastern Washington. Their lineup includes Bourbon Whiskey, Gin, and Vodka. For Kirby, distilling is the pinnacle of capturing the essence of something exquisite. All the details, complexities and art that goes into creating Spirits are what fostered his obsession.

“I grew up in the Midwest, the epicenter of all things corn! The corn plant itself is masterful - creating a perfect balance of sweet and savory. The opportunity to distill the essence of this balance into a beverage spirit was both a challenge and a goal. I'm so excited and confident in the results of my 13 years of pushing this envelope!” Kirby Kallas-Lewis pointed out.

The world's highest distillery was established by a physician, and their impressive lineup is a testament to what they’ve been able to accomplish in the short time since their launch in 2008. Their Whiskeys, Vodkas, Gins, and Rums have brought home countless awards, but the closest to their heart is Whiskey.

“The idea of searching the states for the most fantastic Bourbons and uniting them for an ultimate blend, instead of competing with them, is exactly why I love this industry. We are all passionate about what we do as Bourbon producers, and it will be exciting to see the different nuances of our products blended together to create a unique product and collaboration,” says Hans Stafsholt, Head Distiller at Breckenridge.

Halfway between Dallas and Austin, lies a small distillery that makes a range of Whiskeys and Rums that have earned it more than 140 awards. Erik Allen, the distillery director, told us they began with a drive to distill a Single Malt in Texas to honor the malt distilling tradition of the state, which then led them to discover new resources and angles.

“We’re thrilled to collaborate on a project so original and authentic. It’s an honor to be part of such a unique union,” says Mr. Erik Allen.

Husband and wife, Scott Blackwell and Ann Marshall, use a creative and culinary approach to distilling. Their lineup is colorful and unique, and their approach is exactly what Corn Trooper represents: out-of-the-box thinking, skilled craftsmanship, and only the best ingredients.

This Kentucky distiller, which counts on a century of knowledge and experience, decided to mix up the traditional Bourbon recipe, amping up the percentage of malted barley (19%). Andrew Buchanan, the co-founder of the distillery, wanted to bring Bourbon back to Bourbon County for the first time since 1919. He sees the collaboration with Corn Trooper as beneficial to the growth of the craft industry.

“Collaboration is key to the growth we have seen in the Craft industry. So, to be part of a project like this, and to be included among some of the distilleries that I looked up to when I started down this path is incredibly humbling,” says Mr. Buchanan.

This Beer and Spirits company, established by two college buddies, bets on artistry and craftsmanship for its success. They started with beer, which is still the baseline of almost everything they do. They then evolved into a craft distillery that offers unique Spirits, including their own signature Bourbon (finished in beer barrels, of course).

Brad Kamphuis, Director of Distillery Operations, remarks, “I really like this idea you guys have about bringing together multiple craft distillers for this project. There are a lot of us now, and we will certainly be stronger together for sure.”

The first New York whiskey distiller since Prohibition swears by quality and simplicity, which certainly pays off. In addition to their many other expressions, they're also making a revolutionary peated Bourbon, which is in line with their approach: distill creative whiskeys that remain traditional, while defying convention. They strive to look beyond existing methods and styles, expanding the category of American Whiskey in the process. They love the fact that Bourbon is continuously evolving through a combination of creativity and boldness.

When we asked them what they think about being part of Corn Trooper, they told us: "With so many standout small bourbon makers, it was only a matter of time before the idea of blending these together. Blends are often looked down on by American whiskey drinkers, but that is purely cultural and an outdated way of thinking. It's exciting to be a part of this project."
